As we get ready for the bank holiday weekend, the NHS in North West London is sharing important information to prepare for the three day weekend, including how local people can access health services.
Local residents can access appointments for a GP or practice nurse by calling their GP practice or calling NHS 111 to be directed to the most appropriate local service.
In many areas, walk-in clinics and urgent care centres will be open. To get information about those services, check https://www.myhealth.london.nhs.uk.
Remember to stock up on repeat prescriptions before the weekend but if you do need to visit a pharmacy, a list of those open on bank holiday Monday can be found below.
In North West London we’re giving patients increased access to GP services on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays at local GP practices and health centres. Patients can contact their practices to book appointments to see a GP in the evening, at the weekend, and over the bank holiday weekend. If their practice is closed, patients should contact NHS 111 to make an appointment.
Over the bank holiday weekend, ring NHS111 if you urgently need medical help or advice, but it’s not an emergency. The service is staffed by a team of fully trained advisers, supported by experienced nurses and paramedics and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
In an emergency, Londoners should dial 999 or go to A&E.
