Since 2017 Healthwatch Ealing Patient Experience Team carried out a Patient Experience survey regarding access to the Primary Care Services. They interviewed thousands of patients, carers and members of the public, asking them about their own experience accessing GP and other Primary Care Services. One of the biggest improvements is related to the question about booking GP appointment. In 2018/19 (Quarter 4) 56% of all patients interviewed said that they had a positive experience when they were booking their GP appointments. Since then in 2019/20 (Quarter 1) 65% of patients who were interviewed said they had positive experience. This is increase of 10% in a year, which is considerable improvement. The overall “Access to Services” question has shown a considerable improvement, going from 41% in 2018/19 (Quarter 4) to 45% in 2019/20.
The report has been presented at the ECCG Patient Engagement Reference Forum (PERF) at their meeting on 14January 2020.
